Lowe Build Completes £8m Refurbishment Project
Lowe Build has completed another project for Imperial College in London. This time an £8m refurbishment project at Evelyn Gardens, London comprising over 261 Bedrooms, 37 new Kitchens and 116 new Bathroom pods.

The project was a full Design & Build project with Lowe Build responsible for the initial feasibility and cost planning through to the final design and completion.

The internal refurbishment included the installation of a new waterproofing system to the basement, 20,000m2 of new ceilings, flooring, new door sets, joinery and decoration to 261 bedrooms. In additional, 37 new kitchens were installed along with 116 new bathroom pods.

Externally all the roofs were either refurbished or replaced, 600 sash windows were refurbished, façade repairs carried out, and the existing parapets to each building were removed and replaced.

The works also included the installation of three new plant rooms, including new boilers and plant, LED lighting was installed throughout, new fire and security systems were installed along with new a data installation.

The project was completed within the 30 week programme and Michael Lytrides, Director of Estates Development and Projects at Imperial College, praised Lowe Build and hailed the success of the project:
