Business School, London
From the feasibility study, through to completion of the project, Lowe Build were tasked with resolving the damp issues that had brought the vaults into serious disrepair and to bring them back to life with new finishes throughout.
The basement of the Business School forms an integral social and educational hub, therefore all works were undertaken at night, whilst the building remained occupied throughout the days with students and seminars.
A new cavity membrane system discharging into new sump pumps was installed to resolve the water ingress, along with new curved dry lining and barrelled ceilings to match the shape of the existing pavement vaults.
A brand-new M & E infrastructure was installed including LED lighting, data and BMS installations to create suitable study areas for Imperial College students.
